Exodus Programs
Launched in October 2020, Exodus offers ATI programming to anyone facing a felony or misdemeanor charge in any of the five boroughs. Participants engage in 4, 6, or 12 months of programming, including transformative mentoring groups, civic engagement courses, leadership development workshops, substance treatment services, trauma counseling sessions, and employment services training and job coaching opportunities. The team not only supports the participants at Exodus, we provide court advocacy as well.
Located in East Harlem, our Exodus Center for Trauma Innovation (ECTI) offers free, extensive, evidence-based clinical and non-clinical therapies addressing trauma tailored to communities of color, particularly young people, members of the LGBTQIA community, justice impacted people and immigrants. Community-based healing staff engage in traditional and non-traditional approaches to physical, psychological, and emotional healing. The ECTI builds relationships with the community through as many access points as possible and pursues creative and collaborative means to engage with other stakeholders as part of our healing work.
Exodus Newburgh
Exodus Newburgh has been providing services to the Orange County community since 2014. While the core of our mission is to support individuals who are coming home from incarceration, we also recognize the generational impact that incarceration can have on communities at large and aim to address, mitigate, and repair this harm through various innovative means. At our new site located at 120 South Street, we offer an array of services including case management and employment readiness. We also work with grassroots partners to reduce gun violence and provide alternative avenues for youth, and repair familial and community harm.
Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety
The Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety(MAP) was launched in July 2014 by the Mayors Office following a spike in shootings in some of the city’s public housing developments. The core tenets of MAP are health and wellness, youth development, economic stability, physical spaces, and safety and justice. Over the past six years, MAP has become an internationally recognized model for how residents co-create safety in their communities through innovative problem-solving. Its signature initiative NeighborhoodStat brings residents, community stakeholders, and city agency representatives to identify and solve public safety and quality of life issues. Residents take the lead in safety realization efforts through partnerships with community organizations and various City agencies, including NYCHA, the Police Department, the Parks Department, the Department of Aging, and the Department of Sanitation. The program consists of activating spaces with community unity(residents, agencies and local CBOs) to lessen the possibilities of crime in housing developments
Exodus Poughkeepsie
PK House
Exodus Transitional Community (ETC) Poughkeepsie was established ten years ago and not only works with people coming home, we also operate a small housing program for men transitioning back to society. ETC holds a strong footprint in Poughkeepsie, and we partner with other non-profits, government and higher education institutions to provide distinctive programs.

As with all of Exodus programming, we are unique in our approach and collaborate with different CBOs and the community. Walking Through Wilderness
Women & Girls Project
The Walking Through Wilderness program seeks to address the barriers justice-involved people experience when seeking employment. The program provides jobseekers with a two week-long, soft-skills job-readiness training, where participants learn how to create a resume and cover-letter, participate in mock interview sessions, engage in group discussions about the challenges of reentry, acceptance, guilt, and external influences, and learn coping mechanisms to manage stress.
The Women & Girls Project provides young women (ages 15-24), who have experienced trauma and/or are impacted by the justice system, with an 8-week long workshop series, in partnership with A Little Piece of Light Foundation. Workshops focus on health and trauma, leadership development, civic engagement and education and career exploration. The women also receive case management and mentoring, as well as have opportunities to participate in programming on Saturdays with Exodus, such as the Broadway Monologue project or Chess Club.
