Participatory Education in Advocacy and Civic Engagement Plan (PEACE Plan)
In Fall 2019, we plan to launch our civic engagement program — Participatory Education in Advocacy and Civic Engagement Plan (PEACE Plan).
The PEACE Plan methodology is a long term strategy which employs civic Education, Engagement and Empowerment in order to reverse the trend of systemic disenfranchisement that occurs as a result of criminalizing disadvantaged communities of color. We will provide education, training and resources to justice-involved people so that they can successfully advocate for themselves, their families, and their communities. Through this year-long program, we look to reduce the impact of intergenerational disenfranchisement in disadvantaged communities through greater civic engagement in local politics.
Long-term, our goal is to reverse the trend of systemic disenfranchisement that occurs as a result of criminalizing disadvantaged communities of color by providing education, training and resources needed to be successful.
